Reach Out
Aug 12, 2026
There are moments when the strongest thing you can do is not push harder.
Not strategize longer and not refine the plan again…but reach out.
We are taught to self-contain, to handle it, figure it out, or be capable.
And yes, capability matters.
But leadership is not isolation.
Resilience is not silence.
Some of the most pivotal moments in my life did not shift because I had a better answer.
They shifted because I picked up the phone.
A mentor.
A friend.
A colleague.
A coach.
Sometimes I was reaching for clarity, perspective, or simply for steadiness.
There is humility in reaching out.
And there is courage.
We forget that connection is not weakness. It is wisdom.
The executive who asks for insight before making a decision.
The board member who invites dialogue instead of defending a position.
The friend who says, “I could use a listening ear.”
These are not small acts. They are turning points.
In my work, I see this shift again and again.
The moment someone moves from carrying it alone to allowing someone to walk with them.
That is often the beginning of renewal.
You do not have to collapse to reach out.
You do not have to be in crisis.
Reach out when you are building, stretching, or when you are standing at the edge of something new.
And yes, reach out when you are tired.
Because life was never designed as a solo act.
If something in you is tightening, wondering, hesitating…let this be your quiet nudge.
Send the text, make the call, schedule the conversation.
And as you move through your week, remember this as well.
Do not only reach out when you need something. Reach out to offer something.
A word. A check-in. A simple “I see you.”
Someone in your life right now could use that message. Reach out.
It may steady them and I just might steady you.
And it may open a pathway neither of you could see alone.
Resilience Reset: Reaching out is a sign of strength.
