Red Flags Don’t Mean You’re Going to a Carnival

Sep 23, 2026

We’ve all seen them…those “red flags” waving in relationships, business deals, leadership decisions, and life choices. They’re not decorations. They’re signals. But too often, we convince ourselves that the music’s just part of the ride, that it’ll all be fine if we stay seated with a smile and hold on tight.

The truth is, red flags aren’t warnings to ruin your day; they’re invitations to reclaim your clarity. They remind you that discernment is not judgment…it’s self-respect in motion. Each flag that rises gives you a moment to pause, breathe, and ask: What’s this trying to teach me? What am I avoiding? What pattern is asking to be broken?

I’ve learned this lesson the hard way. Ignoring what I knew because I wanted to believe what I hoped. Every time, it cost me time, peace, and energy. The breakthrough came when I realized that my resilience didn’t come from pretending the flags weren’t there. It came from walking away when they were.

Red flags don’t mean you’re going to a carnival. They mean you’re being called back to your wisdom.

Resilience Reset: Trust the signs. Your intuition is your life’s best early-warning system. Listen to it before the ride gets rough.
