Things You Can Do Or That Happen In A Snap

Oct 21, 2026

Life often moves slowly.

Careers unfold over years.
Trust builds over time.
Healing asks patience.

But some things happen in a snap.

A finger snap is barely a moment.
A tiny sound between one second and the next.

Yet in that small space, remarkable things can occur.

You can choose courage.
You can forgive someone who never expected it.
You can decide to stop arguing with reality.

In a snap you can apologize.
You can say thank you.
You can tell someone you love them.

You can step out of the story that says you are stuck.

In a snap you can reach out.
You can offer help.
You can extend kindness to someone who did not ask for it but deeply needs it.

Leaders know this well.

Major strategies take time.
Organizations evolve slowly.

But the decision to listen happens in a snap.
Respect is given in a snap.
Integrity is chosen in a snap.

A life can change in a snap too.

A diagnosis.
A phone call.
An unexpected opportunity.
A moment of clarity that rearranges everything.

I know something about those moments.

Three times doctors told me I had six months to live.
Each time life paused long enough for a different question to appear.

If time is shorter than expected, what matters now?

The answer rarely arrives as a grand revelation.

More often it appears in the small decisions that happen quickly.

Be present.
Tell the truth.
Offer kindness.
Choose the next right step.

A snap is small.

But a life is often redirected by the smallest moments of choice.

Pay attention to them.

Because in a snap
you can begin again.
